Setting Admin Rights

  1. Sign into site, in the Admin/Editor menu select "User Group Manager"
  2. To make user an admin, click on the title "Admins", a search box should be visible with the title "Add user by NetID". In that search box you can search for a user by NetId, enter the NetId and click the magnifying glass.
  3. The site will search the BYU LDAP system for users with that NetId and display it, click the green "+" button to add them as an admin. However, in order to edit content on the site, this user will also need to be added to the "Editors" group.

Setting Editor Rights

  1. Sign into site, in the Admin/Editor menu select "User Group Manager"
  2. To make user an admin, click on the title "Editors", a search box should be visible with the title "Add user by NetID". In that search box you can search for a user by NetId, enter the NetId and click the magnifying glass.
  3. The site will search the BYU LDAP system for users with that NetId and display it, click the green "+" button to add them as an editor.

Custom Permission Groups

  1. Sign into site, in the Admin/Editor menu select "User Group Manager"
  2. To add a custom permission group, go to the bottom of the page where there should be an input field with title "Enter New Group Name", enter the group name in there and click "Add Group".
  3. To make a user a part of your custom group, click on the title with your group name, a search box should be visible with the title "Add user by NetID". In that search box you can search for a user by NetId, enter the NetId and click the magnifying glass.
  4. The site will search the BYU LDAP system for users with that NetId and display it, click the green "+" button to add them as a part of your custom group.
